Name: Bidelen (B'len)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Class: Wingrider
Origin: Ista Sea Hold
Family: M: Kylee F: Tyre S: Sukura
Description: Messy brown hair, usually worn a inch or so long. 6 foot 3inch tall with broad shoulders, muscular body. He has a Square jaw, Set face. His Grey eyes hide all emotion and match his face most of the time making it hard for anyone to tell what he is thinking or feeling. He has Calloused hands, tanned skin, and Normally wears loose gray trousers with loose white cotton long sleeve shirt to cover his scared arms and chest.
Background: Born in the Ista Sea Hold he was raised in a fisher man family with an older sister. He learned how to become a fisherman, and often got into trouble as a lad because of his quirky nature. He and his best friend Minon liked to play tricks on the fisherman, such as tying their fishing nets together. They became the terrible duo. And reined their terror on the fisherman till he left. They also talked about serious things as well, out near the caves by themselves they would tell secrets, and swore they would never have as good a friend as they were now. Minon then promptly threw him in the ocean starting a water fight.
He became a favorite to the fisherman from age 8 because he always wanted to learn more, and willing to do any job to get someone to teach him. He could always laugh at a joke played on him, or weasel his way out of trouble from ones he had played with his irresistible smile.
As he grew and learned the fisherman ways, His mother Kylee taught him manners and schooled him in reading and writing in lessons by the fire at night. His mother always thought them important though he never understood why. There was a lot that he didnt know about his mother. No one knew much about her background. Only that his father had met her on a trading voyage, and brought her home with him. She was often a mystery to him, elegant yet not afraid of menial tasks, a different kind of beauty than found in the Ista Sea Hold. Small hands, small body, delicate face, but all strong. He started to notice a little more every year as he grew, and though his curiosity grew he never asked.
His father, was a strong man, as dark as his mother was light, thick as his mother was thin, though he always handled her with the deepest love. He had grown up in the Ista Sea Hold as his father and his fathers father, etc. Had before him. He knew the secrets to the ocean, what the waves said to each other as they passed, and how the wind talks as it blows. He could navigate any ship anywhere. He had begun teaching Bidelen from the day he was born. Not only the fishermans ways but how to think for himself. He made sure that Bidelen knew the freedom of making your own choices, even if you are wrong and must learn from that mistake. Which is what got him and his family in trouble in his 14th year.
His father got into a fight with the hold lord because of the choice in where they would fish. They had been fishing in the same spot for years, and the catch was always plentiful, but his father had noticed a decline in the intake for a few yeas. No one else had, they to proud at what they had brought in to see. And this pride brought his father to leave the hold. He came in one night and told them to pack their things I am not going to live in a hold that is so blinded by their pride that they will not see the obvious!
They left early the next morning. Bidelen was devastated at leaving Minon, and left him the lucky fishing hook that they had used to catch their first fish together. They and tied it to some string and wore it around their necks, trading off every week. It was their trade mark, he left it with a note on his desk, Im coming back for this he wrote, and then wiping the tears from his eyes, they left on their fathers small boat.
I havent said much about Sukura (his sister) but she was well trained in a sailors duties, as was her mother, and they all sailed the boat. They were close to shore, when something happened. Bidelen never found out, all he saw was his fathers shocked face as the boat tipped spewing them all in the water. The water stated to churn the boat was tossed and broken, as was his family. He saw Sukura clinging to a piece of broken wood. He tried to get to her, but was trapped in-between pieces of the boat, helpless as he watched her be pulled down. She caught his gaze as she went under, leaving him to forever see her frightened eyes in his sleep.
He was found walking along the shore, bloody and torn, dazed and unresponsive. He was brought over the course of two years to the Dark Skies Weyr.
Now at age sixteen he is different than he ever thought he would be.

For a year now he has been at the weyr. After impressing Sapath, he was thrown into a life of taking ccare of a growing dragon. He managed that alright, but has had problems coping socially, R'dry has been his first and almost only friend. A kindred spirit.
That is until Killian brought a surprise by one day. It was his older sister. Sukura. She had survived the wreck and found her way to the weyr, living there without either of them know ing the other was there.
:edited 2:
Graduated and accepted into G'eals wing. B'len has softened a little, due to his sisters prescence and his new found duties of taking care of the wing along with other adult riders. He still has.
:edit 3:
After the assasination of G'ael and the attack on T'narus B'len has become paranoid about the guild. Always watching for them, and never quite trusting the ex-Guild Lord Jamis. He accepted the job of Weyrling Master for the sole reason that no one else would. And since his sister is a weyrling he understand the importance of having a weyrlingmaster as the weyrlings have been without one for so long.
Personality: Always the gentleman from his mothers teachings, He never gets into fights, and almost never offends anyone. Though some are offended by his ways. Some would call them cold, others mature, and some couldnt tell you what it was. He was more mature than his age, forced upon him in the accident at 14, he grew emotionless, hiding all his feelings, so as not to be hurt again. He would hide behind a stony mask, fearful inside. But some few managed to penetrate his circle, bringing the shadow of his old smile to his face, a jolly laugh, and even on rare occasions a twinkle in his pain filled eyes.
:edited:
After running into a few problems with people, fights, bickering, making enemies, that kind of thing, B'len has grown frosty, and standoffish. Not really talking to people unless thesy insist, and only talking to his enemies to provoke them.
Still sometimes in a rare mood, he'll talk with a cannidate, help someone out.

Upon finding his sister, he has tried to hide from her the fact that he doesn't have many friends. This has made him more 'human' if you must. On account of seeing her every day and being in G'ael's wing he has also defrosted. Now sometimes he even goes out of his way to talk with someone. He has learned the value of people, though old habits die hard, so he is still a little harsh sometimes.

3 items: a necklace that held a stone. This stone was a maze of colors, ever swirling blues, truer than any color. His father had given it to him on the way. The story was that it had been in the family for years, made deep in the ocean and that it brought luck to them.
He also had a book, one of his mothers; he had found it on the beach after the accident. It was a book of poems. He had never seen it before, nor did he open it and read in now.
And then he had his knife. It was the knife that all fisher man children get on their 13th birthday. It was a symbol of growing up. It wasnt a bad knife either; it was a good and sturdy one, one that could be used. The Ista Sea hold never was one for wasting. He carried it in his boot.

Dragon Stats
Name: Sapath
Color:Large Midnight Blue
Personality: The second to hatch from the clutch, Sapath is a trickster, loving to play pranks on his rider and his siblings (ask poor Erastoth). He loves the company of humans.
Background: the dragonett had chosen B'len because when he looked at the cannidates faces he had seen the fighting look on B'len's face, as he fought an inner deamon. He had startled the boy, with his question of concern.Their eyes met and Sapath knew that B'len would be his rider.
:Edited:
Since the impression Sapath has been working to change Blen from an anti-social to a nice guy. sad to say it hasn't worked very well. WEll it did for a while, when R'dry left, but as soon as he came back, B'len returned to the frosty guy attitude.
Sapath sort of lost hope at that point, but for a plan Zorenth and he were going to try to pull, but on the return of B'lens sister, Sapath hopes that this will be a good influence on B'len.
